An Electrophoretic Difference between Surface and Secreted Igm of Murine Splenocytes
نویسندگان
چکیده
micro-chains on the surface of murine splenocytes are more heterogeneous on SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis than both secreted and intracellular micro-chains labeled with [(3)H]tyrosine. No difference in heterogeneity among cell surface, secreted, or intracellular L chains was detected. The possible role of carbohydrate in micro-chain heterogeneity is discussed.

Cell surface immunoglobulin. XIX. Susceptibility of IgD and IgM on murine splenocytes to cleavage by papain.
The present studies were designed to determine the effect of papain upon IgM and IgD on the surface of murine splenocytes. By using radioiodinated cells, it was shown that IgD is more susceptible to cleavage by papain than IgM. The difference in susceptibility to papain of the two isotypes was not observed when cell lysates were employed, suggesting that attachment to the plasma membrane affect...
متن کاملCell surface immunoglobulin. XI. The appearance of an IgD-like molecule on murine lymphoid cells during ontogeny
An Ig molecule containing L chains and H chains similar to human delta-chains has been detected on the surface of radioiodinated murine lymphoid cells. Newborn mice have only IgM on their splenocytes. Between 10 and 15 days, the IgD-like molecule appears and increases in amount until 3 mo of age, when it is the predominant cell surface Ig in terms of radioactivity. IgD is found only in peripher...
متن کاملB-cell tolerance. IV. Differential role of surface IgM and IgD in determining tolerance susceptibility of murine B cells
During ontogeny IgD appears later than IgM on splenocytes of neonatal mice (1) and at a time when mice develop a markedly increased immune responsiveness (2). Based on these observations, it was suggested that IgD serves as a "triggering" isotype for induction of immune responses, whereas surface IgM functions as a tolerizing receptor (3). To test this hypothesis, the susceptibility of adult sp...
متن کاملThe Assessment of Cytokine and Antibody Responses to Recombinant 31kDa Brucella Cell-Surface Protein in Brucella Abortus Infected Mouse Model
Background & Objective: One of the most common diseases between zoonosis - especially in developing countries – is brucellosis. Identification of Brucella cell antigen combinations in terms of the amount and type of immune response in infected hosts, are important in vaccine design. 31kDa Brucella cell surface protein (BCSP31) is shared among all Brucellae. We aimed to define specific immune r...
متن کاملStudy of Chenopodium Album Allergenic Extract to Induce Allergic Asthma in Murine Model
Background: The incidence of allergic and asthmatic diseases has been continuously increased in both industrial and developing countries. Extracts from various known allergens are used for the diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Objective: To investigate the effects of an extract prepared from Chenopodium album (Ch.A.) pollen to induce allergic asthma in BALB/C mice. Methods: BALB/C mice were ...
